Jon Galt Bowman,
Board President

Jon Galt Bowman is a founding
member of our Board and has
been involved with the Haas
Foundation since its inception.
Jon is married to Ann and they
have two grown children. Jon
has been involved in both the
marine and aviation industries
throughout his career. Jon was
Chair of the Board at Pacific
Medical Center, President of
the Council on Crime and
Delinquency for the State of
Washington and served as one
of the State Hospital
Regulatory Commissioners.

Under Jon's leadership, the
Haas Foundation is creating a
new approach to serving more
schools and more students.
Either Jon or one of his
colleagues on the Board will
be attending the planned
statewide meetings. Please
take some time at these
meetings to share a Haas
story with Jon or other
Board members.

Sue Russell,
School Fund Manager

Sue Russell joined the Haas
Foundation in 1988, after
completing her B.A. degree
at Seattle Pacific University.
Sue is devoted to the mission
of the Foundation, and has
worked over the years to
simplify grant management
procedures for all schools.

Sue has made friends all over
the world by opening her home
to international students
pursuing a college degree in
the United States. Explor-
ing the Cascade Mountains has
become one of her favorite
activities, after a student
from Romania introduced her

New Program Deadline: Submit your Year-end Report
Between May 1 - June 30!

Submitting your report by the deadline helps us:

  • Confirm that your account is being actively used to help students;
  • Supply current data to the Haas staff and Board of Directors as
    they work to steer us toward the best use of Foundation resources;
  • Demonstrate to potential donors how meeting the specific needs
of students in our state helps them gain self esteem and stay in
school or helps them return to school.
  • Match donors with interest in particular areas to schools that are
    active in those areas; and
  • Keep your status active for the 2005 - 2006 school year.

Submit your report online at http://haasfoundation.org. If you've lost your login ID
and/or password, please contact us at staff@haasfoundation.org or call Sue Russell,
School Fund Manager at 206 370-6714 (office) or 206 383-0182 (cell).

New Program Requirement: Attend a One-Hour
Meeting Near You

For schools to be eligible for funding in 2005 - 2006, an administrator or
representative from each school must attend one of the planned meetings listed
in the schedule found in the Executive Director's Corner section of this newsletter.
We look forward to meeting each of you.

taxes? Why not set up a regular schedule to enter disbursements, bank
charges, interest deposits and/or local donations? By the end of the
school year, you'll be able to file your Haas Foundation report with just
a few simple mouse clicks.
